Topic 13
Tenses: The Active and Passive Voice
The Active Voice can be converted to the Passive Voice
and vice versa.
The verb must be a transitive verb. Only a transitive verb requires a direct
object. An intransitive verb does not
need a direct object.
In the Active Voice, the Subject creates the action
whereas in the Passive Voice, an action is done to the Subject.
The same rules of Subject-Verb Agreement in the Active
Voice also apply in those in the Passive Voice.
